ART I - ART FOUNDATIONS

Prerequisite(s): None
Course Description: The student will develop art skills and a working knowledge of the elements of design that include an introduction into two and three-dimensional media. This level provides students with opportunities to develop an understanding and an appreciation for art history. The students will be required to keep a sketch journal throughout the semester.
ART II – INTERMEDIATE

Prerequisite(s): Completion of Art I – Foundations
Course Description: Art II builds upon the successful completion of the Art I course. The course introduces the principles of design and builds upon prior knowledge of the elements of design. A continued emphasis upon art criticism, art appreciation and art history will enable the student to develop skills and knowledge in a variety of media. The students will be required to keep a sketch journal throughout the semester.
ART III – ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE

Prerequisite(s): Completion of Art II – Intermediate

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY I

Course Description: This course explores at a beginner level digital photography, design techniques, printing processes and photo editing software to achieve a broad range of knowledge for creative expression. Historical and contemporary photographers and their contributions will be explored. A student portfolio of photographs will be developed.
