She truly goes above and beyond every single day. As our high school art teacher, she somehow balances giving her all at school while also being an incredible mom to three young kids at home. Her classroom is a place students want to be—constantly filled with creativity, energy, and a sense of belonging, which says everything about the environment she creates. She takes on so much behind the scenes, from essentially planning and running the homecoming dance each year to managing the CCPS art show. When unexpected staff changes occurred, she stepped up without hesitation to ensure the yearbook was completed, taking on yet another responsibility with grace. She continuously pushes her students to shine, getting their work into multiple contests and even helping make opportunities like the Virginia Tech art gallery showcase a reality. She provides an opportunity for the students of CCPS to have visibility outside of our community. Her lessons are always fun, engaging, and meaningful, and she never hesitates to step in and help others—she would truly give you the shirt off her back. She also shares her talent across the entire school system, helping create meaningful pieces like the McCleary Elementary playground sign. She proudly displays student artwork for the whole school to see and even gives up her personal time to come in and supervise students as they beautify the building with murals. On top of all of that, she is a proud member of the “morale mafia,” constantly working to make CCPS a positive, supportive place not just for students, but for her coworkers as well. She is the definition of dedication, heart, and selflessness, and our school is so much better because of her.

She goes above and beyond every day—staying organized, communicating clearly with both students and parents, and always making herself available to help. Whether it’s during class or through after-school tutoring, she makes sure every student has the support they need to succeed.
Her classroom runs smoothly, with a strong sense of respect and structure, and it’s clear her students truly admire her. Not only is she a fantastic educator, but she also makes Math engaging and approachable for everyone. She has been the best Math teacher my child has ever had.
