This message is for the parents/guardians of senior students. This is a reminder that Senior Parent Night is scheduled for this Thursday, October 8th.
The purpose of this meeting is to review your student’s progress toward graduation and make sure they are on track to meet all graduation requirements.
Drop-in hours are from 4:00–6:00 PM, and meetings should take approximately 10–15 minutes. No appointment is necessary, simply stop by at your convenience during that time.
This meeting is mandatory for all seniors and their parent or guardian. If you are unable to attend, please contact Mrs. Dowdy to arrange an individual meeting at an alternate time.

FREE Game Admission for Children of Booster Club Volunteers
Craig County Public Schools greatly appreciates the employees, parents, and community members who volunteer their time to support our students and athletic programs through the Rocket Booster Club. Many of our home athletic events depend upon volunteers who assist with concessions, admissions, event operations, and other responsibilities.
Effective immediately, the children of individuals who volunteer to work for the Rocket Booster Club at a home athletic event will receive free admission to that event.
The purpose of this benefit is to recognize Booster Club volunteers for giving their time while also making it easier for parents and guardians to volunteer without having to purchase admission for their children while they are working.
The following guidelines will apply:
● Volunteer Requirement: The individual must be actively volunteering for the Rocket Booster Club at the event for which free admission is provided. Simply being a member of the Booster Club does not qualify.
● Eligible Children: Free admission applies to the volunteer's dependent children. The benefit does not extend to other relatives, friends, or guests.
● Same-Event Admission: Free admission applies only to the athletic event at which the parent or guardian is volunteering. It does not provide free admission to other games or events.
● Volunteer Assignment: Volunteers must be scheduled or approved by the Booster Club to perform an identified responsibility, such as working concessions, admissions, merchandise sales, or another Booster Club function.
● Volunteer Check-In: The Booster Club should maintain a volunteer list for each event. Volunteers should check in upon arrival so that gate personnel can verify eligibility when necessary.
● Student Supervision: Volunteers remain responsible for making appropriate arrangements for their children while volunteering. Children may not interfere with Booster Club operations, athletic activities, or event safety.
● School and Event Rules Apply: Children receiving free admission remain subject to all CCPS rules and expectations applicable to spectators attending athletic events.
● Postseason and Special Events: This benefit applies to regular-season home events for which CCPS or the Rocket Booster Club controls admission. It does not apply to VHSL postseason contests, tournaments, or other events when admission requirements are established by another organization unless specifically permitted.
● Administration: Questions regarding volunteer eligibility or admission should be resolved by the Booster Club leadership in coordination with the school administration. The intent is to administer this benefit consistently and fairly.
We hope this provides an additional incentive for employees, parents, and community members to volunteer with the Rocket Booster Club. These events require significant support, and the time our volunteers contribute directly benefits our students and athletic programs.

Craig County Public Schools will have a vacancy on the Craig County School Board representing the Craig City District effective October 4, 2026.
The School Board is seeking interested community members who reside in the Craig City District to be considered for interim appointment to the vacant seat. The individual appointed will serve through the remainder of the current term, which expires December 31, 2027.
Applicants must be qualified voters and residents of the Craig City District of Craig County.

Earlier today, the Craig County Public Schools became aware of a phishing campaign involving the division’s email system. We are actively investigating this matter, but have observed suspicious emails sent from the email accounts of both division staff and the families of our students.
As a precaution, we encourage families and staff to exercise caution while using email, particularly if you have received messages containing unexpected links, attachments, or requests for information. Please do not respond to or interact with suspicious messages.
We recognize the concern this may cause, particularly on the first day of school. We are taking this matter seriously and are working to address the situation as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
