SHOUT OUT to Morgan Dowdy & Gerri VanDyke

"I wanted to give a shout-out to Morgan Dowdy! She has worked tirelessly on making our Community Christmas Assistance Program a success! She has coordinated the Snow Court and Christmas Change Challenge, organized wish lists, and secured sponsors, all of which have helped to make sure families in our community have food and gifts this holiday season."

"Also, a shout-out to Gerri VanDyke! She has also assisted with the Community Christmas Assistance Program! This year, she really stepped up to fill the role of organizer, securing sponsors, contacting parents, and coordinating pickups! We could not have pulled this off without her leadership and support!"

"I’m so glad to be a part of such a wonderful community and school system!💙"

A HUGE thank you to Morgan & Gerri for working so hard to ensure all of our children experience the JOY of Christmas.

Due to the recent winter weather and the loss of valuable rehearsal time, our theater production “Complaint Department & Lemonade” will be postponed until January. We know this news is disappointing—we’ve all been eagerly preparing and looking forward to sharing this fun show with you.

However, the extra time will allow our cast to shine even brighter, and we can’t wait to bring you an even better performance in the new year. Thank you for understanding, and get ready—the January show will be worth the wait! 🎭✨

🏈 What a night under the Friday night lights! We faced off against Grayson County in an intense playoff football game, and it was everything we hoped for and more! The energy in the stands was electric, and our team fought hard from the first whistle to the final play. A huge shoutout to our players for leaving it all on the field and to our amazing fans for their unwavering support. We couldn't have done it without you!

Good Afternoon,

This is Jason Wheeler, Superintendent of Craig County Public Schools, with a few important announcements regarding tonight's football game.

First, the ticket prices for playoff games are set by the Virginia High School League (VHSL) and are $8 per person. Additionally, only VHSL-approved passes are allowed for playoff games which means that staff, student, and local athletic passes cannot be used for admission into tonight’s game.

Secondly, parking may be limited due to the larger-than-usual crowd expected for the game. Therefore, we encourage all families and friends to carpool when possible and to allow for extra time to purchase your tickets. For safety reasons, please do not park along the roadside. If extra parking is needed, the grass lot beside the elementary school playground will be available as overflow parking, with signs clearly posted to mark the entrance.

Finally, we want to thank everyone for their continued support of Craig County Public Schools and we look forward to seeing you at tonight’s game.

Thank you

Dear Craig County Community,

As we begin evaluating our current high school schedule and planning for next year, Craig County Public Schools (CCPS) is gathering input from our entire school community (teachers/staff, students, parents/guardians, community members, etc.). Your feedback is essential as we work to ensure that our schedule supports strong instructional practices, smooth course sequencing for students, and a positive experience for all stakeholders.

The purpose of this survey is to better understand what is working well with our current model and where improvements may be needed. As we plan for next year, we want to make sure that any changes or adjustments to the schedule are informed by the perspectives of our entire school community.

The information collected will be used to guide future discussions, identify priorities, and support thoughtful, student-centered decision making. No final decisions have been made, and the survey is simply the first step in this process. Your input will help us determine how we can strengthen instruction, support student success, and create a schedule that reflects the needs of our entire school community.

We invite all stakeholders of CCPS to complete the Craig County High School Scheduling Survey. Feel free to share this survey with others in our school community. The survey will remain open until December 19, 2025.

Shout out to Karen Jones for her leadership in coordinating the MES Veterans Day activities. She guided students in creating and sending heartfelt cards to many of our local veterans and secured enough funding from private donors to provide a free meal for every veteran who attended our Veterans Day lunch. As we honor our veterans and express our gratitude for their bravery and sacrifice, we also want to recognize Mrs. Jones’s dedication in ensuring they feel truly appreciated for all they have done for our country.

Thank you, Mrs. Jones! We appreciate YOU!
